The Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) said the volume of trade between Nigeria and Indonesia has hit a sum of $448.6 million. The centre also fixed a target to increase the trade figure by 12% in 2013.
The Director, ITPC, Pontas Tobing, explained that commerce between Nigeria and Indonesia has improved significantly compared to last year due to the cordial relationship that exists between the two countries.
Mr. Tobing in a press briefing to announce its forthcoming 28th trade Expo Indonesia scheduled to hold from October16 to 20 in Indonesia, said both countries’ trade is reflected in the diversity of products and services, including value added agricultural products, mining products, creativity-based products, strategic industries, construction services, transportation, manufacturing sector to mention a few.
The Director added that the expo is also aimed at promoting quality Indonesian-made products and services to the global market, to better develop business and investment, networking and to exchange potential and opportunities especially for those wanting to go into partnership and invest in Indonesia’s industrial sector in the face of increased contest and uncertainty in the international economy.
According to him, the 2012 expo, Nigeria topped the chart of highest attendance of 27.27%, where over 200 business men and women in attendance at the expo, but stressed that the target of the expo this year is to target about 500 selected business participants from Nigeria.
