Business in Nigeria just got a boost as a new co-operative; Friends of Business in Africa (FOBA) held its inaugural launch and introduced its executives to the world.
Protea Hotal GRA, Ikeja, Lagos was agog yesterday, Monday, March 31, 2014. FOBA, as a new multipurpose cooperative took its place. FOBA is focused on empowering the unemployed with the knowhow and wherewithal to become gainfully self-employed and ultimately entrepreneurs with their own clout. FOBA is also focused helping struggling outfits to strive better and thriving outfits to expand.
The event was a serious, down to earth affair; from the welcome address by the President, Mr. Eben Joels, to the inaugural proclamation by Mrs. Bolanle Giwa, Area Officer, Shomolu Zonal Office, Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, to the statement of the constitution of the FOBA team and the presentation of the FOBA executives by the Assistant Area Officer Mrs. Uche Obi, and then to vote of thanks by the Vice President Mr. Dennis Ogbeide, after which the guests were treated to a grandiose lunch. The new FOBA executives are:
