Lafarge Empowers Artisans, Technicians

Lafarge Cement WAPCO Nigeria Plc has empowered block makers and apprentices in Ogun State with the required technical and vocational skills to enable them start up and expand their businesses in the country.

The Managing Director of the company, Joseph Hudson, said that the empowerment was aimed at improving the socio-economic status of its host communities and the Nigerian society at large.

Mr. Hudson who spoke at the launch of Lafarge’s block makers empowerment and technical apprenticeship scheme in Ewekoro, Ogun State, said the value adding sustainable block makers’ empowerment package was targeted at youths-small scale makers and school leavers with technical skills and zeal to venture into the block making vocation. He added that the Lafarge apprenticeship scheme seeks to impart technical skills in community youths in order to support their leadership and success in their chosen endeavours.
